I grew up in the Hill Country of Texas, which sometimes felt like a thousand miles from nowhere.  I also love how this song also references time, just like 9 to 5, albeit a completely different meaning.  time doesn't matter to these shells, not anymore.  they will now forever be the same and be a thousand miles from where they have always been.  you now have a piece of forever and nowhere
