Dr. Edmund Ravenel of Charleston, SC, a 19th-century pioneer in conchology, is attributed with naming the shell. The Lettered Olive was named the official state shell by Gov. Richard Riley on May 8, 1984, due to it being a prolific ornament along the South Carolina Coast.

The lettered olive shell for this bracelet was found at Folly Beach, SC.  All of my cast designs are made by a small foundry located in Portland, OR.

14kt gold-plated shell charm (solid brass) that has as also been e-coated (a process that uses an electrical current to deposit transparent abrasion-resistant nano-sized ceramic particles onto the surface of the jewelry, creating a durable protective hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant finish)

18kt gold-plated stainless steel paperclip chain and findings that have been PVD-coated (PVD-coated gold will last longer than electroplated gold. It is also highly resistant to wear from sweat, perfume, and other things that may come into contact with the piece of jewelry)

bracelet length is 7 inches
